A.                       Library Membership

UG and PG Students, Teaching Faculty and Non-teaching Faculty and other members of the staff of the college are entitled to become member of the library.

B.                       Library Hours

The Library is open from Monday to Saturday*.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS REGARDING USE OF DIGITAL LIBRARY

 1.         The document below details the general terms and conditions for use of the digital library resources. Please read it carefully before using the e-resources. 

2.         This document is to be read by all researchers, librarians and the others registering for resources within the Digital Library. It describes the general terms and conditions through which the information resources available in the programme may be used. 

3.         This document does not replace any part of the legal documentation supplied by participating publishers whose individual licenses must be read and agreed to either in writing or online. 

4.         A representative of each participating Librarian must register access to the information resources available through the Digital Library.

5.         During registration, the representative must read and agree to the license terms and conditions of each publisher participating within the Digital Library.

6.         Where licenses are required to be printed off and returned to the publisher, the representative of each participating institute must comply with the requirement before access for the institute commences.

7.         Where license documents can be viewed and accepted online, the representative of each participating institute must comply with this requirement before access for the institute commences.

8.         Copyright must be respected at all times by all users of the information resources.

9.         Participating institutes and their members must not make printed copies of any of the materials within the Digital Library unless this is within the terms and conditions expressly permissible within the publisher license. Single printed copies of individual resources (e.g. articles) are within the bounds of all the     licenses but they must only be for individual use.

10.     No resources or part of the resources may be sold, exchanged or otherwise traded. For example, use of the electronic resources must not be based on any kind of charging system, apart from any nominal computer access administrative charges.

11.     Participating institutes and their members may not make ANY copies of CD-ROMs, DVDs or other disks provided as part of the initiative.

12.     Participating institutes and their members may not lend copies of CD-ROMs, DVDs or other disks provided as part of the initiative unless they have specific written permission from the publisher concerned. 

13.     The Students are allowed to send the e-materials to their email id.

CIRCULATION RULES

§       Borrowing facilities are given only to the member of the library. Books may be borrowed only against the library card issued to an individual.  Borrowing will be done only through the counter. The library card is non transferable.

§       Books are issued and returned from 9:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

§       The Library member is responsible for any book issued against that library card, as per the library record.

§       Newspapers, periodicals & reference books will not be issued from the Library.

§       Book will not be renewed.(2 times only)

§    The user should check the books thoroughly for missing pages, chapters etc. While getting them issued. No complaint will be entertained later on.

§    No books in damaged condition will be accepted from the users on return. Damaged books will have to be replaced by the borrower.

§       In case of loss of books by borrower, the borrower is required either to replace the books by a recent edition, if available or pay its cost.

§       Copyright of the CDs will be available for the Users in Multimedia Section.

§       If a book is not returned with in the stipulated time. Text books can be issued for a limited period 10 days,

failing which an overdue charge 1st week Rs. 1 per book per day. The fine should be paid at the circulation counter.

§       If a member loses a book issued against his/her library card, the penalty will be as follows.

§       Current cost of the book.

§       If the relevant book is not easily available in the market then the user would pay the double of the current cost of the book.

§       If a member loses his / her library card  and he/she makes a written report to the Librarian.

§       If a borrower (Faculty’s / Students) does not return the documents in spite of two successive reminders his/her membership is liable to be cancelled without further notice.

§       The Librarian can recall books and publications any time if need arises.

 

DAMAGE/ LOSS OF LIBRARY MATERIALS

v  All users will be held responsible for any damage or loss of library materials in their possession and will be required to meet the cost of replacement and processing

v  Users must ensure that the books they borrow are in good condition to avoid being held responsible for any damages noted while returning the books

v  Lost books must be reported to the librarian immediately and replaced or paid for within 30 days

v  Lost library books that are recovered, must be handed to the librarian as they remain the property of the college library
